Laminate flooring has become quite popular in recent years due to the ease, versatility and lower cost compared with other flooring options.  In general, I lump any click-lock system into the common category of laminate be it engineered hardwood, wood composite, true interlocking hardwood, or click-lock luxury vinyl plank.  Excessive moisture is any wood floor product's enemy, so areas where you can expect regular moisture, you should consider another flooring alternative.
